Projects of the Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation

Do you have an idea for an educational project? Do you have a plan to help kids? Do you need money so that you can implement your idea? Do you need money so your educational project may continue? The Educational Foundation has money to give away each year!!! These grants of money are given to individuals and groups for the purpose of conducting projects to benefit children and education. Any project leader may apply - you do not need to be a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Since its inception the Educational Foundation has awarded grants totaling nearly one million, seven hundred thousand dollars ($1,700,000.00) from funds contributed by The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, chapters, members, and friends.

In 2008, 50 new grants and 27 renewals in amounts ranging from $375 to $5025 were awarded, for a grand total of $133,129.19. You may download comprehensive lists of Projects Funded in 2006, 2007 and 2008 from the Documents page.

Projects must comply with one or more of the Purposes and the Mission Statement to:
  1. Support and encourage intercultural understanding
  2. Encourage standards of excellence in education, and/or
  3. Assist and cooperate with schools, colleges, universities, and other persons, organizations, trust funds or foundations in the support, encouragement, and improvement of education. (Note: Project awards cannot be granted for salaries or overhead costs.)
The applicant must:
  • Obtain an application packet from the Documents page or from Delta Kappa Gamma International Headquarters (see Contact page). Application forms are available July 1 - December 1 of each year.
  • Complete the application and submit it postmarked by early January 2009, for consideration in 2009.
The Educational Foundation will notify all applicants by mail on or before April 15, and funds will be distributed by June 30. Funding may be awarded for continuing projects. A renewal application must be submitted. See application forms and information for further details.
